MANA de Topeka, a chapter of the National MANA organization, is thrilled to announce the return of their third annual gala, Suave Agave. The gala will take place at Townsite Ballroom on Saturday, November 1st, 2025. The evening will captivate your senses with food, art, culture, and tequila all while advancing the mission of uplifting Hispanics and the Topeka community through Latina leadership.

The gala serves as the major fundraiser for MANA de Topeka to provide scholarships to Latinas seeking higher education and to provide funding for the programs and services delivered by the organization. Be prepared for a night of celebration, education, and representation all for the future of Latina trailblazers.

The gala also falls on the first day of Dia de los Muertos honoring the deceased children known as Dia de los Angelitos or Dia de los Inocentes. At the event MANA de Topeka invites you to add pictures or trinkets to the community ofrenda, an altar honoring loved ones that have moved on from the land of the living. Celebrate your loved ones and those that inspire you with MANA de Topeka at Suave Agave which includes the following activities:

  • Learning the Art of Tequila Tasting: Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the history and cultural significance of tequila by enjoying Padre Azul Tequila distributed by Strathman Sales Company, Inc. and learning the proper way to consume it and pair it with meals.
  • Tequila Infused Four-Course Dinner: Guests will enjoy a delicious meal with each course infused with tequila. ¡Qué rico!
  • Dia de los Muertos: Guests will learn about the significance of the beautiful symbols, traditions, and imagery of this holiday that is very prominent in Mexican and Latino cultures.
  • Silent and Live Art Auction: Guests can bid on original art pieces created by local artists.
  • Music and Entertainment: Guests will have the opportunity to celebrate through music, dance, and entertainment that brings our community together in alegría and tradition.
  • Suave Agave Shot Glass: Guests will receive a commemorative shot glass to take home as a keepsake
