The annual MANA de Topeka Hermanitas Conference is a conference for Shawnee County middle and high school girls consistent with the mission of the Hermanitas program, to “empower young women to pursue higher education, encourage community involvement, embrace a healthy lifestyle, and take pride in their heritage.”

The Hermanitas program provides girls ages 11-18 the opportunity to participate in leadership, educational, cultural, and community activities in the company of peers and positive role models, called “madrinas.” The goal of the program is to ensure that each participant is exposed to different activities in which they can experience success through teamwork and activities that broaden their horizons and allow them to dream about their futures.

The Hermanitas Conference provides MANA de Topeka the opportunity to bring this mission to a larger number of young women and to engage community leaders and educational experts in this most important endeavor. For more information contact:
